Global Down Syndrome Foundation Ambassadors

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation is proud to honor individuals with Down syndrome each year as official Ambassadors for the Foundation. Ambassadors serve as self-advocates and inspirational voices for the ongoing work of the Foundation, attending events, appearing on press materials, and generally serving as living proof that the Foundation is succeeding in its mission to significantly improve the lives of people with Down syndrome.

Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome Scientific Advisory Board

Tom Cech, PhDBasic science, including translational science, is a key focus of the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome. To this end, the Crnic Institute has a Scientific Advisory Board. The Scientific Advisory Board is responsible to assist in creating and implementing the Crnic Institute’s scientific plan aimed at eradicating the medical and cognitive ill affects associated with Down syndrome.

Anna and John J. Sie Center for Down Syndrome Key Staff

The Sie Center is comprised of a multi-disciplinary “Dream Team” of experts with more than 80 years of combined experience in caring for children with Down syndrome and developmental disabilities. The Crnic Institute Director Tom Blumenthal manages the Dream Team, including the Sie Center Director Dr. Francis Hickey, Senior Physical Therapist Patricia C. Winders, and Program Director Dee Daniels.

Adults with Down Syndrome Task Force

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation Adults with Down Syndrome Task Force was established in March 2014. The co-chairs of the GLOBAL Task Force are Dr. Dennis McGuire, a Down syndrome behavioral expert and GLOBAL Senior Consultant, and Michelle Sie Whitten, President & CEO of GLOBAL. The GLOBAL Task Force was formed to assist GLOBAL and the Anna and John J. Sie Foundation to establish a world-class interdisciplinary medical care center for adults with Down syndrome in Colorado.
